Steven Roberts of St. Louis: Making History

Steven Roberts of St. Louis recently made history as the youngest Black senator to be elected to the Missouri State Senate. Roberts, now 32 years old, completed three successful years of service in the Missouri House before earning a seat in the state’s upper chamber. The last legislator to hold the distinction of youngest Black state senator in Missouri history was the late Raymond Howard, who first took office in 1969.
